Searching for the Iberian Lynx in the Guadiana Valley

The Guadiana Valley Natural Park has the most consolidated population of Iberian lynx in Portugal. It is also a well-preserved natural area, rich in biodiversity, where Mediterranean scrubland intersects with extensive pastures and open holm oak groves. Our proposal consists of a walk along public paths of about 6 km in a territory densely populated by lynxes, appreciating their tracks, the landscapes they inhabit and which take us to the most isolated places of the wild Guadiana. And with luck, we will see a lynx. Alternatively, for the more patient, it is possible to consider waiting in a place with vast horizons and a view of a lynx territory. Be aware that lynxes are not trees, the observation of a wild animal, even in a place where they are abundant, always has a large margin of uncertainty. This activity lasts about 3 hours, starting half an hour before sunrise or 2 and a half hours before sunset, which are the best times for lynx watching. Our rate for this activity is €80 for one person, with an additional €40 for subsequent people, and we do not offer tours for more than 3 people.
